I have a subtle duochrome shade for you today – American Apparel Smoke Dazzle. If you remember my American Apparel haul, I picked out some neons first but kept glancing back at this bottle on the display.
Duo/ Multi-chromes are my weakness, they just look so pretty in the bottles and are really hard to pass up.
I think the name is appropriate for this shade, it does look like smoke, with the strong tint of light teal.

And the duochrome effect is definitely there with natural light (pic above), just not as strong under flash (pic to the left) – it looks more like metal here, not smoke anymore, doesn’t it?
I used 3 coats for this mani, the first coat was a little sheer, but you can stop at the second coat if you want. A sheer look makes it more “smoky”, as the name hints. I was after a heavier smoke, lol.
The colour combination in this one is fun too, not the typical/ popular duochrome colours but is very pretty to look at nonetheless.

My first experience with American Apparel nail polish and I think I like it. I know I waited a little too long to try this brand, I just never come in their store for some reason.
Smoke Dazzle wears quite well on me, around 3 days to the next change of polish. The top coat did not dull the duochrome effect, which is always a good thing.
