Overnight shooting on Joseph Young Street

Police have identified the victim from last night’s homicide in
Dartmouth.

At 9:26 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to 0-100 block of Joseph
Young Street in Dartmouth after a man was shot at that location.
Twenty-seven-year-old Donald Chad Smith of Windsor Junction was
pronounced deceased at the scene. He was at that location attempting to
deliver a pizza when he was shot. Our thoughts and prayers are with
Chad’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are urging
anyone with information about this incident to contact them at 490-5333

On 20101023 @ 21:26 hours the HRP responded to a weapons call located in the 0-100 block of Joseph Young Street, Dartmouth. Upon arrival officers discovered a male lying in a lobby who had sustained a gunshot wound and the male subsequently died at the scene.   The  HRP/RCMP integrated major crime unit and  Forensic Identification Section  were called out and the matter is still under investigation.  The victim was  identified but his name will not yet be released and was 27 years old.
