Pedestrian taken to hospital after getting hit in crosswalk

Halifax Regional Police have charged the driver in a vehicle pedestrian collision that occurred Sunday evening in Halifax.

On April 30th at approximately 6:00 p.m., police responded to a vehicle pedestrian collision at the intersection of South Street and Henry Street.  The driver of a vehicle was heading westbound on South Street and struck a pedestrian who was crossing in a marked crosswalk. 

The 20-year-old pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 73-year-old man, was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
