Peggys Cove Area hosts eclectic arts festival this weekend

The tour is open from 10 am to 5 pm each day

As if one needs another reason to visit one of Canada’s most beautiful destinations this weekend.

Starting Friday July 15 thru Sunday, July 17th in the Tantallon-Prospect area is the Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts Studio Tour. Featuring 70 painters, woodworkers, jewellers, photographers, potters, glass and fibre artists and more, the festival stretches from Prospect to East River, along Highways 333, 3 and 329. The tour is open from 10 am to 5 pm each day.

The Festival is excited to welcome visitors from the HRM and beyond with the 42-location self-guided Studio Tour. The Studio Tour comes complete with a “passport” and a chance to win $500.00 to spend on art. The tour is a perfect way to spend the day visiting solo studios, group shows and commercial galleries where you can chat with the makers, and learn something about the creative process and see demonstrations.

There are also plenty of eating options too along the Festival route. They can be found on the tour map at www.halifaxartmap.com/art-map/pcafa. Art maps are also available at all stops along the Studio Tour route.

Located just 35-40 minutes away from the city, come experience a unique weekend full of gorgeous scenery, food, and art at the Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts.
