Pictou County RCMP investigate fatal ATV collision, Pinetree, N.S.

Pictou County RCMP is investigating a fatal ATV collision that killed a 39-year-old man from Alma, Nova Scotia. On Friday evening at approximately 9:30 p.m., Pictou County RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and Thorburn Fire department responded to a report of an ATV crash that occurred at the base of a driveway on Pine Tree Road.

Pictou County RCMP is investigating a fatal ATV collision that killed a 39-year-old man from Alma, Nova Scotia.

On Friday evening at approximately 9:30 p.m., Pictou County RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and Thorburn Fire department responded to a report of an ATV crash that occurred at the base of a driveway on Pine Tree Road.

Preliminary investigation determined that the man operating the ATV lost control and left the roadway. The crash victim was initially transported to the Aberdeen Hospital by EHS and was then flown by LifeFlight to Halifax. At approximately noon yesterday, the man succumbed to his injuries.

David Wayne Rorison died as a result of the crash. An RCMP collision analyst was consulted and the cause of the collision is under investigation.
