Update 2pm AST: The hikers have been found.

Pictou County District RCMP are searching the MacKinnon Lake area for three missing hikers.

At approximately 9 a.m. this morning, Pictou County District RCMP received a report of three missing Pictou County men who went hiking yesterday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.. The men, aged 22, 34 and 36, failed to return on time from a hike last evening. 

RCMP have mobilized the Pictou County Ground Search and Rescue and Northeast Nova Police Dog Service. The search is continuing and anyone with information about these men is asked to contact the Stellarton Detachment of the RCMP at (902) 755-4141.
