Speeding Violation leads to Drug Charges, Barton, N.S.

RCMP Western Traffic Services have laid drug charges against a man and a woman after their vehicle was stopped for speeding. On Saturday evening at approximately 10:30 p.m., Western Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 101 in Barton, Digby County.

On Saturday evening at approximately 10:30 p.m., Western Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 101 in Barton, Digby County.

Further investigation allowed RCMP to seize approximately three pounds of fresh marihuana and $6000 in cash from the vehicle.

A 24-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, both from Windsor Junction, were arrested and are facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. The pair will be appearing in Digby Court on October 28th, 2013 for plea. The investigation is continuing.
