Police appeal for info after serious collision involving motorcyclist

Update: Police have located the driver of the truck.

Police are looking for the public’s assistance in locating a driver in relation to a motorcycle collision that occurred in Halifax last night.

On July 18 at approximately 4:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a motorcycle collision on Dunbrack Street at the intersection with Highway 102 ramp 1H. The motorcyclist was travelling northbound on Dunbrack Street and collided with a tractor trailer that was coming off highway 102, crossing the northbound lanes and turning left to head southbound on Dunbrack Street. The driver did not stop and continued driving south on Dunbrack Street after the impact. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The tractor is described as being smaller and blue in color, towing an empty flat bed trailer.

Police are asking the driver, or anyone who was in the area and has information or video in relation to the collision, to call police at 902-490-5020.
