Police investigate an assault

Police are investigating an assault that occurred in Halifax last night.

At approximately 12:20 a.m. police were called to a residence in the 6100 block of Willow Street in Halifax for a report of an assault that had just occurred. A man and woman were confronted at the back door of their residence by two men, one of which was believed to have a firearm. The suspects assaulted the man and then fled.

The suspects are described as black males with light complexions average builds, between 5’6″-5’8″, wearing black toques, navy blue bandannas with a white design on them, dark hooded sweatshirts and dark jeans.

The victim currently remains in hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained during the assault.

Investigators do not believe this to be a random incident.
