Police searching for robbery suspect

Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery that occurred in Halifax this evening.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. police received a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Sobeys Smoke Shop located at 287 Lacewood Drive. ​ A man entered the store, demanded money and then fled on foot with an amount of money.​There was no weapon seen and no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man in his fifties, 5’8” with grey hair. ​ He was wearing jeans and a black bomber-style winter jacket with fur on the hood.

Police are investigating the possibility that this robbery is related to a similar incident reported earlier this date on Joseph Howe Drive.
