Police arrest man in robbery

Halifax Regional Police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery that occurred earlier today in Halifax.

At 12:14 p.m. police responded to a robbery in progress at the Scotiabank located inside of Scotia Square at 5201 Duke Street in Halifax.

A man entered the business and demanded money from the teller while motioning as if he had a weapon, although no weapon was observed. The man left after receiving quantity of cash. The employee was not physically injured during the incident.

Officers located the suspect a short time later at a nearby business. A 70-year-old Halifax man was taken into custody without incident. The investigation is ongoing with respect to possible charges.
