Police: Avoid Quinpool Road After Power Pole Hit By Truck

Halifax Regional Police members are currently on scene in front of the Irving gas station  on Quinpool road (6515 Quinpool road).  A garbage truck has struck a power pole and knocked out the power in the area.

For now, traffic flowing eastbound (inbound) along Quinpool road is uninterrupted.  The traffic light are out east of Connaught street and all  intersections should be treated as four way stops.   Westbound traffic (outbound) along Qunipool road between the intersections of Elm and Connaught street is blocked off as Nova Scotia power crews are tending to the down lines and damaged power pole.

Members of the public are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternative travel plans.  The use of Chebucto Road and Oxford street would allow for an easier morning commute.
