Police charge Halifax health care practitioner with sexual assault

Investigators with the Sexual Assault Investigative Team (SAIT) of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a Halifax health care practitioner in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in 2018.

On December 28, 2018, police received a report from a female reporting she was sexually assaulted in September 2018 at a Chinese Therapy Acupuncture Clinic located at 206-1535 Dresden Row.

As a result of the investigation, SAIT members arrested the man at the clinic yesterday at approximately 9:50 a.m. Xiao Han Li, 32, of Halifax, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face one count of sexual assault.

Out of respect and concern for the victim’s privacy and wellbeing, we are not releasing any further details regarding the incident.
