Police in Pictou County seize drugs during residential search, Pictou County, N.S.

Drug and weapons charges are pending against a man following a residential search in Hillside.

On Wednesday, May 13th at approximately 2 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU), with the assistance of Pictou County RCMP, executed a search warrant at a residence on Egypt Road.

No one was home at the time of the search. Police seized marijuana plants in various stages of growth, a quantity of marijuana shake, a cross bow and ammunition. Sgt. Kevin Dunlevy of the Pictou County RCMP said ‘It’s always good to get these indoor marijuana grows early in the season before people get the chance to move them outside for the summer.’

This morning, a 55-year-old male was arrested at the Egypt Road residence without incident. He was released from custody and will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on August 24th, 2015 on numerous drug and weapons charges. The investigation continues.
