On Thursday, August 27 at approximately 9 a.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU), with assistance from the Pictou County District RCMP, executed a search warrant at a residence on MacKay Rd.

A 77-year-old male was arrested at the scene without incident. Police seized 20 marijuana plants in various stages of growth and a quantity of marijuana.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on November 23, 2015 to face charges of Production and Possession of Marijuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The investigation is continuing.
