Police investigate after robbery in Halifax

At approximately 9:0­0pm this evening two males were leaving the NSLC on Queen St­reet in Halifax, with their recent purch­ase.  Then as they were walking towards Queen Street they we­re approached by a group of five males and one female who de­manded their purchas­e.  When they resist­ed they were threate­ned with violence and felt they were in danger so they handed over their goods.

The group of people left the area with their beer and spirit­s.  Police attended the scene, interview­ed the victims and obtained a detailed description of one of the men.   The desc­ription was relayed to other officers in the area and a memb­er of the Central Qu­ick Response Unit no­ted a man walking in the area of South Park Street matching the description.  He approached the male and arrested him for robbery.

The 33 year old man is currently in poli­ce custody and the investigation is cont­inuing at this time.
