At approximately 9:00pm this evening two males were leaving the NSLC on Queen Street in Halifax, with their recent purchase. Then as they were walking towards Queen Street they were approached by a group of five males and one female who demanded their purchase. When they resisted they were threatened with violence and felt they were in danger so they handed over their goods.
The group of people left the area with their beer and spirits. Police attended the scene, interviewed the victims and obtained a detailed description of one of the men. The description was relayed to other officers in the area and a member of the Central Quick Response Unit noted a man walking in the area of South Park Street matching the description. He approached the male and arrested him for robbery.
The 33 year old man is currently in police custody and the investigation is continuing at this time.
