Police investigate an early morning assault in Dartmouth

At approximately 4:47 am this morning, officers responded to a residence in the 0-100 block of Alderney Drive to the report of a man that had been assaulted.

Police learned that the 60 year old victim was assaulted with what is believed to be a piece of wood.

The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the forensic section, and investigators from the Criminal Investigations Section in conjunction with members of the Patrol Division are currently investigating the matter, and seeking the whereabouts of the suspect.

The suspect and the victim are known to each other and it is believed that this is an isolated incident at this time.
