Police investigate armed home invasion

Halifax District RCMP is investigating an armed home invasion that occurred at a home on Bissett Rd. in Cole Harbour.

On December 23, 2023, at approximately 10:04 p.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion on Bissett Rd. in Cole Harbour. RCMP officers learned that a man and woman were in the home when two men entered, one with what appeared to be a handgun. A physical altercation followed with one of the men who entered the home being struck with an object and laying unconscious on the floor. The other man described as white, slim build, and wearing a face covering, fled the residence in an unknown direction prior to the arrival of RCMP officers. Halifax Regional Police Dog Services attended, however the man who fled was not located. The unconscious man was transported to hospital by EHS with apparent life-threatening-injury.

RCMP Forensic Identification Services attended the home and conducted forensic examination of the scene. No arrests have yet been made. The investigation is ongoing and led by the Integrated RCMP/HRP General Investigation Section (GIS) of the Criminal Investigation Division.
