Police Investigate Assault with a Weapon – Sambro Head
At 11:50 a.m., 20 April, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of Weapons Call at Willow Road, Sambro Head. A caller reported to 911 that a male attacked his truck with an axe and the male is following on foot demanding his axe back.
At 12:10 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect in 0-50 block of Willow Road. No one was injured during this incident. Police confirmed the suspect and victim are not known to one another. This was not a random incident. The incident is believed to have occurred as a result of a driving complaint.
A 39-year-old male from Halifax is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Uttering Threats and Mischief (Property Damage) and is held for a Bail Hearing, with a future Halifax Court date.
