(Update) Police investigate bomb threat – Halifax

Officers have concluded their search, nothing suspicious was located, however, the investigation is ongoing. The area is now open to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Police thank the public for their cooperation in this matter.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a bomb threat that was received this morning in Halifax.

Just after 11:09 a.m., police responded to a building located in the 5800 block of College Street for a bomb threat after the building received a threatening phone call from an anonymous caller. Officers are on scene and searching the area with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, however, nothing suspicious has been located to this point. This building and other buildings in the area have been evacuated as a precaution, and College and Summer Streets and University Avenue have been closed to vehicle and foot traffic until further notice.

The investigation into this matter is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
