Release:

Members of the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP General Investigation Section are investigating a discharge of a firearm which occurred at an apartment building on Knightsridge Drive in Clayton Park early on Monday morning.

Just after midnight on Monday, a tenant heard a loud bang. In the morning, a family member noticed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the ceiling and wall of their apartment, and called police. Officers responded at approximately 8:40 a.m., determined the damage was caused by a bullet and conducted a search of the apartment above the complainants’ unit to ensure no one was injured. Officers executed a search warrant on the apartment above the complainants’ unit yesterday afternoon, and seized three firearms, a pellet gun, two bullet proof vests, ammunition and a conducted energy weapon.

No one was injured during this incident, and the investigation into the discharge of the firearm and the recovery of the weapons is on-going.
