Members of the Halifax Regional Police West Quick Response Unit located a vehicle on Indigo Walk in Halifax, this vehicle matched the description of the vehicle used in the Bank of Montreal robbery. The officers observed 3 males on Lemon Walk that may have been involved in the robbery. The males fled on foot as the police approached and one was taken in to custody after a foot pursuit. The other two males got in to a wooded area and could not be located even after deploying K9.
Investigators have charged 31 year old Cory Frederick Salter of Dieppe New Brunswick with Robbery with an imitation firearm, Use of an imitation firearm in the Commission of an offence, Weapon dangerous to the public peace and several Criminal Breaches. He has been remanded to the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility and will be appearing in Halifax Court on Monday.

160908 at 9:40pm Members of the West Quick Response Unit located a vehicle on Indigo Walk, Halifax, that matched the description of the vehicle used in the Bank of Montreal robbery. The officers then observed 3 males on Lemon Walk that may have been involved in the robbery. The males fled on foot as the police approached and one was taken in to custody after a foot pursuit. The other two males got in to a wooded area and could not be located even after deploying K9. The suspect vehicle has been seized and will be processed by the Forensic Identification Unit. The investigation is continuing and no decision on charges have been made at this time.

At 4:05 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery at the Bank of Montreal at 620 Nine Mile Drive in Halifax. Members are still onscene at this time and the investigation is in its early stages.
Three males entered the bank ay 4:05pm. All three were white males wearing masks. One of the suspects had a hand gun. The suspects demanded money and the male with the gun struck a clerk in the head with the gun. The suspects were given an undisclosed amount of money and exited the bank. They entered a grey Mazda 3 and were observed going on to Larry Uteck Drive and then heading in bound towards Halifax on Hwy 102.
The clerk was assessed and treated by paramedic at the bank and did not need to attend the hospital.
