Police investigate Homicide in Lakeside

June 13, 2011, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . . Members of the Halifax District RCMP/HRP Major Crimes Unit are investigating a homicide which occurred in Lakeside, Nova Scotia overnight.
 
On June 12, 2011, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Halifax District RCMP received a call about a Break and Enter that resulted in a shooting at a residence in Lakeside.  They also received information that the victim lived at the residence. 
 
Two males wearing masks broke into a residence in the 1300 block of St. Margaret's Bay Road.  One of them got into a fight with one of the residents of the home.  During the altercation, shots were fired by another resident of the home.  When police arrived, they found the victim, a 20-year-old male, deceased.  A 53-year old suspect was taken into custody.  He has since been released pending consultation with crown prosecutors.  Charges are pending.
