Police Investigate Impaired Driver and Vehicle Collision Hit & Run

At 4:40 a.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision where a car struck a tree and fire hydrant in the 6100 block of North Street Halifax.

Moments later another caller reported a possible impaired driver operating a Gray Honda Civic traveling North bound on Windsor Street Halifax.

Shortly after at 4:50 a.m. Halifax Regional Police located the suspected vehicle in the parking lot of McDonalds on Kempt Road.

Officers located and arrested the female driver.  A 21-year-old female from Halifax will appear in Halifax Court on a later date and is facing the following Criminal charges:

– Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle,

– Operation with over 80 mg. of alcohol,

– Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and

– Obstruction.
