Police investigate motor vehicle crash, Halifax, N.S.

Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash in Dartmouth. Last evening, 11:09 p.m., RCMP and Halifax Regional Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Albro Lake Road.

Last evening, 11:09 p.m., RCMP and Halifax Regional Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Albro Lake Road.

When police arrived, HRM Fire Services were dealing with a pickup on fire. Police located the driver as he was being treated by EHS. The investigation revealed that the male driver had been driving the truck and crashed it into several other vehicles on a car lot. A concerned citizen detained the driver until police and paramedics arrived.

The 19-year-old driver was arrested and taken to the Dartmouth General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Charges are pending including Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Police are continuing to investigate if alcohol played a factor in the motor vehicle crash. He will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
