Police investigate shooting in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia

March 9, 2011, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . . Royal Canadian Mounted Police/Halifax Regional Police Major Crime Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia.

 
On March 8, 2011, 10:39 PM, RCMP received a call that when a 32- year-old female arrived home on the West Lawrencetown Rd, suspect(s) shot at her vehicle.  She attempted to drive away from the suspect(s) in her yard until she came to a stop at which point she called 911 on her cell.  Police arrived and located her in the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to the QEII by ambulance, treated and released.  K9 located a handgun and a shotgun in the woods near the scene.  Integrated RCMP/HRP GIS are continuing to investigate and the Forensic Identification Section is assisting.  Police do not believe this is a random act.
