Police investigate shooting in Timberlea, NS

May 7, 2011, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM)….Royal Canadian Mounted Police are investigating a shooting that happened in Timberlea, Nova Scotia.

On May 7, 2011, 4:30 AM,  Tantallon RCMP received a call of what sounded like gunshots coming from behind a residence on Grovenors Lake Drive.  Another complaint was received that suspects had shot at a home on Power Terrace.  While police were responding, there was a two vehicle motor collision near 1215 St. Margaret's Bay Road.  The driver and passenger of one of the vehicles ran off into the woods.  Police attending the scene of the collision located a firearm in that vehicle.  A police dog arrived at the scene to track the suspects but did not locate them.
 
Halifax Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS) are investigating.
 
 
Police are asking anyone with information about this or any other incident to come forward.  People are asked to contact any RCMP office, Halifax Regional Police, or Crime Stoppers anonymously anytime at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca . Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award from $50 – $2000
