Police Investigate Suspected Impaired Driver – Halifax

At 4:02 a.m., Halifax Regional Police attempted to stop a suspected impaired driver in a White Volkswagon Passat at Windsor Street and Bedford Highway Exchange, Halifax.​

The vehicle did stop when police activated emergency lights and then fled at a high rate of speed.​ Police pursued the vehicle for a short distance and then called off the pursuit due to the speed of the vehicle which entered a residential area.

Minute’s later police located the vehicle abandoned on Bayers Road.​ Patrol officers and a police service dog searched the area for the driver.​ However, officers were not able to locate the driver.​ The vehicle has been seized and the investigation is ongoing.​
