Police Investigate Suspicious Circumstance

Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man after he asked a child to go into the woods with him near the Clayton Park Drive/Lacewood Drive area this evening.

At approximately 7:00p.m., an 11-year-old girl was in the area the basketball court near Lacewood Drive and Clayton Park Drive

when a man approached her and asked her to come into the woods with him.  The young girl ran to her mother who was nearby and they called the police.

The man is described as a medium dark complexion male with a slight accent, 5’7” tall, small build and in his early 20’s.  He is reported to have short black hair and clean shaven.  He was wearing a red t- shirt and light blue jeans that had darker blue knees.  The man was also walking a dog at the timeof the incident described as having brown curly fur that stood about knee high.  The dog was wearing a purple collar and possibly named “Lucy”.

Investigators are asking anyone who has any information on this incident to contact police by calling 902-490-5020.
