Police Investigate Threat to Use a Firearm

At 2:30 p.m. 9 March, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of threat to use a firearm. The Emergency Response Team and patrol officers secured a residence in the 30 block of Vitalia Court Halifax. Officers arrested four people without incident from the residence.

At 9:00 p.m. Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division executed a Search Warrant at the residence and did seize a firearm, a sawed-off shotgun.

Two adults, a 62 year-old male, 18 year-old male and a 16 year-old male youth, all from the residence that was searched are facing firearm related offences. All three males have been released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking with Halifax court dates. No one was injured and the investigators are not searching for any other suspects.
