Weapons Offence/Causing a Disturbance

At 5:45 p.m., Police responded to the 600 block of Portland St. Dartmouth to a report of a male with an axe.

Responding officers located the male in the middle of the road and he was swinging the axe in a threatening manner.

The male resisted officers when they attempted to arrest him but they were able to arrest him without anyone being injured.

The 20-year-old Dartmouth man will appear in court tomorrow to face charges of causing a disturbance, possession of a weapon and resisting arrest.

Robbery

At 9:30 p.m., Police responded to the Spring Garden Café News Stand located at 5681 Spring Garden Road to a report of a robbery.

A man entered the business, attempted to steal some items and when confronted by staff he produced a knife. No one was hurt and the suspect fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid to late twenties, slim build wearing a black hoodie. The incident is being investigated by Integrated General Investigation Section.
