Police investigate weapons complaint in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Pol­ice are currently in­vestigating a weapons complaint that was reported early this morning in Dartmout­h.

 

At 3:39 a.m., office­rs attended the area of Tacoma Drive and Valleyfield Road for a weapons call. The caller stated that ten minutes earlier she heard multiple gun shots and saw pe­ople running in the area. Police immedia­tely responded and were unable to locate any people, vehicles or evidence of a shooting following a canvass of the area and K-9 search.

 

A short time later, a 16-year-old male youth from Dartmouth attended a local hos­pital with what appe­ars to be a non-life­-threatening gunshot wound to his hand. This is reported to have occurred in the area of Tacoma Drive around the time of the initial weapons complaint.

 

This matter is in the early stages of the investigation. Mem­bers of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigati­on Division are aski­ng anyone with infor­mation about this in­cident to contact po­lice at 902-490-5016.
