Arrest made in stabbing incident

With the assistance of uniformed officers, members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a Richmond Street address overnight.  A 39-year-old woman from Halifax was arrested.  She remains in custody to attend Provincial Court to face a charge of aggravated assault.

Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Monday morning in Halifax.

At 4:30am, policed responded to the 5200 block of Richmond Street for a report of a woman who had been stabbed.

Officers located a 33-year-old woman and she was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The investigation by the General Investigative Section of the integrated Criminal Investigation Division is ongoing.
