Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a vehicle fire that occurred last night in Dartmouth.
At 10:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of vehicle fire in the 200 block of Wyse Road where Halifax Fire and Emergency were already on scene and had extinguished the fire. Police were informed that an older white man had been observed across the street from the fire crouched behind another vehicle and appeared to be watching the fire.
The man had left the area prior to police arrival and was not located. An incendiary device was also located next to the burnt vehicle. The vehicle has not been reported stolen and police are trying to reach the owner.
The investigation into this matter is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
