Police request public’s assistance locating a wanted man

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery.
 
On January 1, at 4:50 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery at the Petro Canada station at 6381 Quinpool Road in Halifax. A man entered the business, produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes from the employee. He fled the area on foot and attempts to locate him were unsuccessful. The employee was not injured.
 
Earlier today, an arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Shane Thomas Robinson in relation to this investigation.  He has been charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and disguise with intent. He is described as a white man, 6’, 181 lbs., with short red hair and blue eyes. He also has a tattoo of a red star on the right side of his neck.
 
Robinson is believed to still be in Halifax at this time.  He is considered armed and dangerous and members of the public should not approach him or try to take matters into their own hands and should call 9-1-1 if they see him. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Shane Robinson is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020.
