Police seek public assistance in assault investigation

Halifax Regional Police is seeking the public’s assistance in relation to the investigation of an assault that happened last month in Halifax.

At approximately 3 a.m. on August 26, officers responded to a report of an assault at the intersection of Blowers and Barrington Streets in Halifax. The male victim reported that he and a woman were walking through the intersection when they saw a vehicle approaching that they thought might hit them. They stopped and yelled at the male driver who exited the vehicle and confronted them. The driver assaulted the man and then got back in his vehicle and left the area. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers are looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5016.
