(Updated) Police seize lumber, ask the public for assistance to return it to place of origin

UPDATE: Theft of Lumber

In relation to last night’s theft of lumber, a 34-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested at the scene. They have been released to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

Officers are attempting to locate the owner of the lumber and ask anyone who is missing lumber to contact police and provide details on the missing lumber.

At approximately 11:26 p.m. Sunday, police observed a cube truck driving with no headlights on in the area of Larry Uteck Boulevard and Broad Street in Halifax.

A traffic stop was conducted resulting in a load of lumber being located in the back of the truck.

Officers believe the lumber was stolen from a construction site in the area. Officers seized the lumber and are asking anyone missing lumber to contact police and identify what they are missing.
