Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 at:
- Dollarama (Scotia Square Mall, 5201 Duke St, Halifax) on October 27-30 between 12 noon and 3 p.m. Anyone present at the location during this time is asked to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named dates may develop symptoms up to, and including, November 13.
- WestJet flight WJ 254 on Oct. 30 from Toronto to Halifax. It departed Toronto at 9:45 p.m., landing in Halifax at 1 a.m. on October 31. Passengers in rows 39 to 45, seats A, B, C are more likely to have had close contact. Passengers in these seats are asked to call 811 for advice and to continue to self-isolate. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on these flights may develop symptoms up to, and including, November 13. All other passengers on this flight should continue to self-isolate as required and self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Visit covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca/ to do a self-assessment if in the past 48 hours you have had or you are currently experiencing:
- fever or cough (new or worsening)
OR
- two or more of the following symptoms (new or worsening):
- sore throat
- runny nose
- headache
- shortness of breath
You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access or if you have other symptoms that concern you.
Please remember:
- To self-isolate until you receive 811 advice on next steps.
- Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.
Currently, anyone travelling to Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Provinces is expected to self-isolate for 14 days after arriving.
