At 9 a.m. today Halifax Regional Police received information about a potential threat against Mic Mac Mall. Officers in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Section are actively investigating this matter to determine the validity of the threat.
We have liaised with mall management to advise them of the potential threat. As a precaution, HRP currently has a significant uniformed police presence at the mall. The mall has also chosen to close.
The investigation into this matter is in the early stages and HRP will provide additional updates as they become available.
