Premier Thanks Maureen MacDonald


Premier Stephen McNeil today, April 12, thanked Maureen MacDonald for her service to the province.

This morning, Ms. MacDonald resigned as the Halifax Needham MLA after 18 years in office.

“I’ve always found Ms. MacDonald to be extremely capable and I respected her ability as a legislator,” said Premier McNeil.

“I’ve admired the way she conducted herself both as an MLA and cabinet minister. She served her constituents and all Nova Scotians well and I wish her the best in the next phase of her life.”

Ms. MacDonald was first elected in 1998, and won re-election in 1999, 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2013.
