Prismatic Arts Festival is set to light up Alderney Landing on the Dartmouth waterfront with concerts, workshops, dance, theatre and fireworks from August 21st to 24th. Here are 10 things you won’t want to miss:

All-ages shows with JP Cormier, Sanctified Brothers, Dinuk Wijeratne, Reeny Smith, Canadian Primos, and more.
9) Body 13 – A critically-acclaimed play from MT Spaces that explores Canada’s cultural divide and the politics of the sexualized body.
8) NeoIndigenA – A world premier from Kaha:wi Dance Theatre, a company that melds Indigenous and contemporary dance.
7) Broken English Karaoke – Sing along with this interactive performance installation that explores the complexities of culture and language by translating popular American songs to other languages, and then back to English.
6) Dance Workshops – Put your dancing shoes on and sample African, Indian classical and contemporary dance with Liliona Quarmyne and Nova Bhattacharya.
5) Paul Wong – Well-known “media-maestro” Wong brings three installations including DisOriental, a piece shown on a 7 million pixel screen. Join him for an artist talk on August 21.
4) Friday Night Pyro Show – Fireworks, flame and music by Fireworks FX.
3) Landline – Star in your own show! This innovative concept will partner you with a participant in Ottawa. As you both take a brief tour of your respective cities, the wonders of technology allow you to share your findings.
2) Good People, Bad Things – Playwright and activist Daniel Thau-Eleff explores the nature of good and evil in a personal/political monologue.
1) A Tribe Called Red – Free all-ages show Sunday night with the popular Ottawa-based group known for mixing traditional pow wow vocals and drumming with cutting-edge electronic music.
