RCMP are on the scene of a truck fire near mile marker 94, in the north bound lane. The truck is carrying a large amount of diesel fuel.

Truro fire department are actively fighting the fire. Assistance is being provided by Transportation Infrastructure and Renewal and the Department of Environment.

Colchester Detachment RCMP members are investigating the fire. The fire was reported at 5:09 pm. The lone occupant and driver is safe. Department of the environment are responding with material and resources in the event of an oil spill. Due to the potential for explosion the general public is requested to stay away from the area. The 102 highway will be closed in both directions for some time.

The matter remains under investigation with assistance from partner agencies.
