RCMP arrest robbery suspect, Lower Truro, N.S.

Colchester County RCMP arrested a 28-year-old man in relation to an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday evening in Lower Truro. On January 4th at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Colchester County RCMP arrested a 28-year-old man in relation to an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday evening in Lower Truro.

On January 4th at approximately 7:30 p.m.

, Colchester County RCMP responded to an armed robbery incident at the Le-A-Pol grocery located on Highway 236. Preliminary investigation revealed that a lone male entered the store, placed a bag on the table and demanded money, indicating that he had a weapon. The male clerk refused, picked up a baseball bat and approached the suspect who fled on foot empty handed. The clerk was not injured.

Members of Colchester RCMP and Northeast Nova RCMP Police Dog services commenced their investigation and located the lone man a short time later at an address on Truro Heights Road. he was arrested without incident.

The Bible Hill man is facing a charge of Robbery and will be making a court appearance in Truro Provincial Court on February 5th, 2014.
