RCMP arrest trio during roadside check, Shelburne County, N.S.

Shelburne County RCMP have arrested three men in relation to a drug investigation this morning. At approximately 6:30 a.m., Shelburne RCMP members responded to a complaint of a motor vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 103.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., Shelburne RCMP members responded to a complaint of a motor vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 103.

RCMP located the vehicle, stopped it and discovered a substantial quantity of drugs including marijuana, hashish, prescription pills. RCMP also seized several knives, a machete and a significant quantity of cash. A 17-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, all from the Halifax area, were arrested on scene without incident.

The three accused are being held in custody and are expected to appear in Barrington Provincial Court tomorrow to face charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Fail to Comply with a Recognizance. The investigation is continuing.
