RCMP charge two men with theft of copper, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S.

RCMP have charged two men in relation to copper thefts in Upper Musquodoboit. Yesterday at 9:09 p.m., RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at a Nova Scotia Power Compound on Highway 336.

Yesterday at 9:09 p.m., RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at a Nova Scotia Power Compound on Highway 336.

Suspects had placed spools of wire in the back of a pickup truck. Police located the vehicle on Stewart Hill Road at the intersection of Highway 289. Officers arrested two men and seized the stolen property.

Further investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for thefts of copper and damage to property from the same location on December 5th, 2013.

The two men, a 21-year-old from Pugwash and a 19 year-old from Westchester Station, are facing charges under the Criminal Code including Break and Enter and Theft. They will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
