RCMP investigate accidental discharge of firearm, St. Croix, N.S.

Windsor RCMP are currently investigating an accidental discharge of a firearm.

At approximately 7:15 a.m. today, Windsor RCMP responded to a 911 call involving a victim who had been shot.

A 65-year-old male from Windsor was accompanied by an 11-year-old boy from Martock while hunting.

The accidental discharge occurred and as a result, the 11-year-old victim sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to the QEII by EHS LifeFlight paramedics.

Investigators are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and charges of Careless use of a Firearm are pending against the 65-year-old. The names of the parties involved are not being released at this time.
