RCMP investigate animal incident, Yarmouth County, N.S.

The RCMP, SPCA and local animal control officers are investigating an incident involving the discovery of a dead dog in the woods near Arcadia. Yesterday at 12:50 p.m., Yarmouth RCMP were called to the scene of the discovery of a dead dog in the woods.

Yesterday at 12:50 p.m., Yarmouth RCMP were called to the scene of the discovery of a dead dog in the woods.

Municipal animal control and RCMP officers identified what appeared to be injuries on the dog related to a gun shot.

RCMP have been working with the municipal animal control and the SPCA to determine why the dog was killed and the circumstances leading up to its death.

The public is reminded that when there are incidents relating to animal control, they can contact the RCMP or the Municipal Animal Control Officer for assistance.
