RCMP investigate fatal collision

Shortly after 1 p.m. this afternoon, Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the Forties Rd. in New Ross.

The collision claimed the life of a 44-year-old woman. Two other occupants in her vehicle were transported by EHS LifeFlight to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, one with serious injuries and the other with non-life threatening injuries. A 52-year-old woman, who was driving the other vehicle, was transported by EHS to South Shore Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An RCMP collision analyst is currently on scene and the road will remain closed throughout the evening. The investigation is continuing.
