Stabbing investigated by police, Porters Lake

Prior to 3:30 a.m. this morning, Halifax District RCMP received a report of a 26-year-old man from Porters Lake having arrived at the Dartmouth General Hospital with a stab wound.

Police confirmed that the victim drove himself to hospital after being stabbed during an altercation at a residence on Meadowview Dr. in Porters Lake. The injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. The victim was home alone when two masked men entered the home and assaulted the victim.

The investigation is in its early stages with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division leading the investigation with assistance from the Major Crime Unit, RCMP Forensics Identification Section, Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police K-9.
